The restaurant scene in Windsor Terrace, Brooklyn continues to expand with fantastic options for dining. I recently discovered new arrival Della, located at 1238 Prospect Avenue; it’s a little jewel in the middle of a neighborhood vibrantly growing in popularity.
Della is completely charming–the staff is impeccably friendly, fun and welcoming; the menu features a well edited array of choices, including sweet and spicy duck wings, chicken liver mousse, branzino and a sautéed pea tendril; and the extensive cocktail, wine and beer list is impressive.
The interior bears a slight resemblance to an airstream camper or train car, with the wood walls rounding up to a low, cozy overhead that creates an intimate space. Beyond that is a small outdoor covered terrace with a few tables that overlooks a back lawn area with communal picnic tables covered in oil cloth prints of varying colors and long flower gardens gracing each side. Streamers of lights provide the outdoor areas with a festive summery experience and a long, languid evening spent eating al fresco. It’s like being on vacation!
