25 Jul Hardware and Dinner
Now that indoor dining has returned, the signature restaurant on top of the flagship Restoration Hardware in NYC is a definite must-visit.
Set atop the enormous store in the Meatpacking District, RH Rooftop Restaurant provides beautiful views of the downtown area and Hudson River.
Sporting both indoor dining as well as a spacious outdoor roof deck, the restaurant oozes classy sophistication with large, comfortable furniture, marble top tables and superlative dishware, linens and silver as only Restoration Hardware does.
The interior is much like a greenhouse with large windows on all sides along with a glass ceiling that lets in full light as well as a view to the night sky.
I enjoyed a dinner there recently on a perfectly balmy evening with a lovely sunset.
The menu is varied and interesting with many options that may seem typical but under famed Chicago restauranteur Brendan Sodikoff’s directions, the food is anything but typical as dishes are elevated to noteworthy heights through interesting flavor combinations and expertly blended herbs and spices.
As a starter I enjoyed Crispy Artichokes with Potato, Rosemary, Aioli and Lemon—fun and delicious! For the main, I chose the Roasted Half Chicken with a Garlic Confit, Potato Purée and Natural Jus—the chicken was exceptionally moist and the purée was a nice compliment to the meat. Lastly, as it’s hard to resist dessert, I had to try a toasted almond gelato with a classic cappuccino—a perfect ending!
The meal was fantastic and made even nicer with an attentive and friendly waitstaff along with a welcoming atmosphere.
If you’re celebrating a special night out, a significant milestone or simply want to indulge in fine dining, RH Rooftop Restaurant is the place to be. With remarkable ambience, service and food, you’re guaranteed a memorable experience. Bon appetite!
The restaurant is open Monday-Sunday 10:00am-9:00pm (I’ve heard their brunch is stellar!).
