Stin yeia mas!

Greek for “to your health,” it is the perfect salutation for a wonderful new eatery in midtown Manhattan. Anassa Taverna serves fantastic Greek fare in a beautiful, well-appointed two story restaurant.

I had the pleasure of dining there for a birthday party and the experience was fantastic and definitely worth repeat visits.

The staff is welcoming and friendly, serving a superb menu of classic specialties prepared in an elevated but approachable manner. They offer a brunch, lunch and dinner menu including both prix fixe and a la carte options.

The comfortable décor and inviting atmosphere feels homey and sophisticated all at once. The entrance welcomes diners with traditional Greek worry beads and evil eyes. Further in one finds a marble covered bar, exposed and weathered brick walls with light wood accents, settees upholstered in creamy tan linen and gauzy white curtains.

The evening of the party I attended was balmy and breezy and all the windows were open with the night air wafting through those curtains; it was like being on vacation in an exotic land!

Anassa Taverna is a memorable dining destination indeed.
